Structured cabling is the part of the building nobody thinks about until it fails, and by then it is inside a wall. We install to standard, test every run, and hand over labelled documentation — so the next person who opens the closet, whether it is us or not, knows exactly what they are looking at.

Structured Cabling, asked and answered.
- What is structured cabling?
- The organised cable infrastructure that everything else plugs into — the runs from each outlet back to a patch panel in a closet, terminated and labelled to a consistent scheme rather than run ad hoc.
- Cat6 or Cat6A?
- Cat6 is sufficient for most office deployments. Cat6A supports 10 Gigabit over longer distances and is worth it for backbone runs and anywhere you expect to need the headroom, since re-pulling cable later costs far more than the difference now.
- Do you test and certify the cable?
- Yes. Every run is certified and the results are handed over. Untested cable is the single most common cause of intermittent faults that get misdiagnosed as network or equipment problems for months.
- What is plenum cable and when is it required?
- Plenum-rated cable has a fire-resistant jacket and is required in air-handling spaces such as ceiling voids used for return air. It is a code requirement, it is inspected, and using the wrong type means pulling it out again.
- Can you work in an occupied building?
- Yes. Most of our work is in occupied buildings, which means scheduling around tenant hours and freight elevator windows. It is slower than an empty fit-out and we price it accordingly rather than discovering it mid-job.
