S-101Physical security — CCTV Surveillance

CCTV Surveillance

Camera coverage designed from a floor plan, not guesswork.

Camera placement is a design problem before it is an installation problem. We start from your floor plan and work out sightlines, lighting at night, and what each camera is actually there to capture — a face at a door needs a different lens than a wide view of a lot. Then we put the whole system on its own network segment, because a camera is a computer and it should not be able to reach your accounts package.

AWhat the install covers

  • Coverage design from floor plans with per-camera field of view
  • Dome, bullet, PTZ, and IP cameras selected per position
  • NVR and storage sized to your required retention period
  • Cameras segmented onto their own VLAN
  • Remote viewing on desktop and mobile

O&MAfter handover

What we keep doing once it works.

Included in a management agreement. Without one, this is the part that quietly stops happening the day the installer drives away.

How managed service works →
  • Recording verified — the failure nobody catches until they need footage
  • Camera firmware patched, because an unpatched NVR is a way in
  • Camera health and storage monitoring
  • Footage export assistance for incidents and insurance claims

QCommon questions

CCTV Surveillance, asked and answered.

What are the advantages of installing security cameras in Manhattan?
Deterrence, real-time visibility, and a record when something is disputed. For most Manhattan businesses the liability case is stronger than the theft case — footage of an alleged slip-and-fall is worth more than the entire system costs.
How long does a security camera installation take?
A few hours to a full day for a typical small system. As with access control, the variable is cable routing rather than camera count.
What should I look for in a commercial security camera system?
Retention long enough to cover a claim surfacing late, good low-light performance, export that produces an ordinary video file, and health alerts so a camera that stops recording is noticed immediately. Resolution matters far less than any of those.
What camera types are used in a Queens CCTV installation?
Dome cameras for interiors and lobbies, bullet cameras for exteriors and perimeters, PTZ where an area needs to be actively swept, and fixed IP cameras at doorways where identification matters. Position determines the type, not the other way round.
How much does security camera installation cost in Brooklyn?
It depends on camera count, cable routing, and how much retention you need — storage is a real cost that scales with resolution. We survey first and quote a fixed number rather than a range.
What if my security camera stops working?
Check power and connections first. If it persists, call us. Under a management agreement you would not be the one finding out — device monitoring flags a camera that has stopped recording, which is the failure people usually discover only when they need footage.
Do you install cameras for residential properties in Queens?
Yes, residential and commercial. For rented apartments we work around what can be installed without permanent fixing, and advise on where cameras may not point — a camera covering a neighbour's window or a shared hallway causes real problems.

Every job starts with someone walking the building.

A site survey costs you nothing and produces a real drawing — device counts, cable paths, and a fixed number. Not a brochure.
