N-103Data security — Email & User Security
Email & User Security
The layer attackers actually target: your people.
Almost nobody breaks in through the firewall any more. They send an email that looks like it came from your bookkeeper. Email and user security is about narrowing what reaches the inbox, and making sure the person reading it has seen the trick before.
AWhat the install covers
- Advanced phishing and business email compromise protection
- Microsoft 365 monitoring for suspicious logins and mailbox rules
- Multi-factor authentication rolled out properly, including the exceptions
- Security awareness training with simulated phishing
- Dark web monitoring for your domain's credentials
O&MAfter handover
What we keep doing once it works.
Included in a management agreement. Without one, this is the part that quietly stops happening the day the installer drives away.
How managed service works →- Ongoing phishing simulation with per-user results
- Alerting on impossible-travel logins and forwarding rules an attacker set
- Quarantine review and release
- Reporting you can show an insurer or an auditor
QCommon questions
Email & User Security, asked and answered.
- We already have spam filtering. Is that enough?
- Spam filtering catches bulk mail. It does not reliably catch a targeted message written to look like it came from your bookkeeper, which is how business email compromise works. That needs different detection and, more importantly, a person who has seen the trick before.
- What is business email compromise?
- An attacker gets into a mailbox, watches quietly, and waits for a real invoice or payment to be discussed. Then they intervene with changed bank details. There is no malware to detect, which is why it defeats traditional filtering and why mailbox monitoring matters.
- Does security awareness training actually work?
- Measurably, when it is continuous rather than annual. Simulated phishing with per-user results shows who is at risk and lets training target them, instead of everyone sitting through the same video once a year and forgetting it.
- What is dark web monitoring?
- Watching for your domain's credentials appearing in breach dumps. If a staff member reused a work password on a site that was breached, you want to know before someone tries it against your Microsoft 365 tenant.
- Is multi-factor authentication really necessary?
- It is the single highest-value control available for the money, and most cyber insurers now require it. The work is not switching it on — it is handling the exceptions properly: shared mailboxes, service accounts, and the legacy protocols that bypass it.

Every job starts with someone walking the building.
A site survey costs you nothing and produces a real drawing — device counts, cable paths, and a fixed number. Not a brochure.
